Privacy Principles
Development notice: this is a plain-language statement of design principles, not the final legal privacy notice for a released service.
You own your Essence
Ornate’s design goal is that a person remains the owner of the information they intentionally place in their Essence. Payment for a service does not itself grant permission to use private memories or answers.
Private archive and AI sharing are separate
Information may remain in an owner-controlled archive while being withheld from model-facing context. A normal chat instruction should not override a previously restricted or withdrawn record.
Corrections and history
Updates, corrections, and sharing withdrawal are treated as different events. A corrected error should not silently become “historical truth,” while a real earlier state may remain part of history after an update.
External AI providers
Once information is intentionally exported to an outside AI provider, Ornate cannot promise that withdrawing it from Ornate will erase copies already transmitted elsewhere. Supported production workflows must state those limits plainly.
Before public release
Final legal terms, privacy disclosures, retention rules, security practices, age requirements, and provider-specific data flows will be reviewed and published before customer enrollment opens.
